Contemporary world music, academism, prog- and postrock, minimalism trance, played with rocknroll attitude by a great drummer and a fabulous accordionist
Gurzuf is a duo of the accordionist Egor Zabelov and the drummer Artem Zalesskiy. The band was created in 2005.
With typical Slavic energy and emotion they guarantee an explosive show and easily make the audience forget that in fact they are just a duo.
These musicians are taking you on their breathtaking roller coaster of melodic beauty, rhythmic ecstasy and joyful play of an unusual intensity with a strong rock-’n-roll attitude.
In their music they combine rich academic traditions with experiments in prog- and postrock, minimalism and trance, using electronic effects and samples and combining these elements with a bright and expressive performance.
Gurzuf breaks with existing themes from the very first notes with hard-to-label, unique and fascinating music.
Their first album “Non-existent movie” was recorded in spring 2007 on Mosfilm record studio. In 2006 the band was awarded “Breakthrough of the year” and “Professionalism of the year” in Belarus. Gurzuf represented Belarus at the “Global Battle of the bands” in London in 2007.
The band performed in Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, France, The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal and UK.
